Details
The Hikvision DS-7608NI-I2-8P is an 8 channel network video recorder with 8 PoE ports built in, making it simple and easy to set up you IP CCTV system. Once set up, simply connecting an IP camera to one of the built-in POE ports the NVR will provide the camera with power and Ethernet connection
Two way audio is supported by the DS-7608NI-I2-8P along with other features such as VCA detection alarm and Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) support. With a HDMI and VGA output, a monitor can be easily connected for easy access to the NVR. Additionally the NVR can be accessed via Hik-Connect, i-VMS 4200 or a browser for simple remote access.
It is possible for the DS-7608NI-I2-8P to record cameras up to 12MP. Please note: If planning on using high resolution cameras from the latest Easy IP 4.0 range at maximum settings, we'd advise adding no more than four devices. The DS-7608NI-I2/8P NVR supports up to 80Mbs of bandwidth, unfortunately we've noticed that the 8MP, ColorVu / Live Guard / AcuSense cameras can use up to 20-25Mbps which means the NVR can only support 3-4 cameras of this type. This NVR has two spaces for hard drives and can hold a maximum of 20TB of storage providing ample storage capacity for an 8 camera system. This NVR will accept any capacity hard drive (HDD) currently available. Any maximum capacity stated on the manufacturer’s documents is simply based upon the maximum HDD size that was available at the time of release/publication.

Supporting H.265+ video compression, the DS-7608NI-I2/8P is able to reduce bandwidth usage, saving on storge and bandwidth requirements, without compromising the video quality.

Easy to set up the recorder. The recorder has been in continuous use for almost 4 years without any kind of malfunction. I immediately changed the device fan to a quieter one, which significantly reduced the operating sound. The recorder is placed in the lounge. I ordered the hard disk according to the recommendation. Recommended product.
The equipment is really easy to use and configure and the output is excellent. Great value for money.
Overall works great so far 3-4 weeks in and not once had an error.
software and set up was a bit clunky as no real instruction manual but i suspect Hikvision expect to sell to trade mainly.
few you tube videos later i was all up and running.
hikconnect also works excellent, once i set up app and triggers the messages works great with no problems
Next thing to do is persuading the Unifi camera to play with the NVR, something I have to seek support for from the forum.
All in all I'm happy with the purchase and can recommend buying from use-IP.
